Multiplans is an innovative mapping application designed for iPhone and iPad users who require offline access to maps with GPS positioning. This app allows for the importation of maps from various sources, enabling a seamless offline experience while leveraging an accurate GPS feature. Additionally, it offers the ability to record tracks and save points of interest.

The interface of Multiplans has been crafted to enhance the map viewing experience, characterized by its simplicity and minimalism. Users can toggle overlay information with a single tap, ensuring a distraction-free view of the maps displayed in full screen. The app supports ultra-fast scrolling and zooming functionalities that contribute to an efficient navigation experience.

One of the standout features of Multiplans is its cost-effectiveness; users need not repurchase maps they already own. Furthermore, there are no subscription fees that may lapse. To utilize maps on your device, users can easily transfer map images into Multiplans, along with a .map or ref.txt calibration file if available. Calibration can also be achieved entirely within the app by graphically defining calibration points on the maps.

Multiplans comes preloaded with sample maps, including a world map and a map of Switzerland. Additional free maps are available for download through the Multiplans website. The application is compatible with almost all coordinate systems globally, and users can effortlessly import their custom maps for precise GPS positioning after calibration. Maps sourced from OpenStreetMap and similar websites can be incorporated using the free mobile atlas creator software.
